About Alan Walter

With over twenty five years experience, Alan Walter is one of the UK’s leading ‘Fleet Street’ photographers. Starting his career in the early eighties he worked for one of the foremost agencies but soon took the decision to freelance so that he could follow his passion and cover sports and news events for the national papers.  He quickly established himself as an acclaimed press photographer.

Al has worked for the majority of the national newspaper titles, from broadsheets such as The Times and Telegraph to The Daily Mail and Daily Express along with the red tops, The Sun, The Mirror and The Daily Star, with his work published on a daily basis.

He has covered major sporting events in the UK and abroad, including The Champions League and FA Cup finals, Wimbledon Tennis Championships and The Grands Prix.  He has photographed many and various celebrity events, state occasions and covered major news stories.

As well as working for the press, Al is regularly commissioned to photograph world famous sporting icons such as David Beckham, Lewis Hamilton and Thierry Henry.Over the years he has taken pictures of numerous personalities from the world of film television and music…..Sir Michael Caine,Kylie Minogue,Jonathan Ross ,Gordon Ramsey,Simon Cowell   to name but a few.  In addition, he has also photographed directors of multi-national corporations and captains of industry for editorial features and corporate public relations.

Alan’s ability to produce high-end creative images whilst working under the pressure of tight deadlines has led to regular editorial commissions for leading public relations agencies. His clients have included:
Lexis PR, Arena International PR, Hill & Knowlton PR, Barclays, e.ON Boots, Powergen, Carling, McDonalds, Robinsons and The British Heart Foundation.

AXA engaged Al as their official photographic consultant / photographer during their campaigns as FA Cup Sponsors and last year he worked within the Arena International team that won a prestigious industry award for their advertising campaign for e.ON.
